A Student Visitor Permit is required for anyone visiting a student that needs to park in university parking areas for ANY length of time.
- Must be obtained PRIOR to parking in a university parking area at the following locations and times:
- Weekdays between 8:30am and 5:00pm - Department of Transportation services office at 55 Commercial Ave, New Brunswick, NJ Public Safety Building.
Cost is $5.00 per day
• Issued to University departments to provide parking to visitors on a one
day basis only.
• Parking is allowed with a scratch-off in any common faculty/staff lot. The
Department will list the lot number on the permit.
• Permits are invalid if not dated.
• Lot, plate and department # must be indicated.
• This permit is for use by visitors only (persons not affiliated with
Rutgers University).
• Use of this permit by students, faculty or staff will result in a $100.00
citation for fraudulent use of permit.

Metered spaces are provided for the convenience of visitors to the university and in certain designated areas for short-term parking intended for official university business.
