Department of Transportation Services is committed to providing all members of the Rutgers New Brunswick campus with the best possible solutions for getting around campus safely and easily.


The university maintains various parking facilities including permit-controlled lots and decks, metered parking spaces, access-controlled lots, and restricted assigned lots.

Transportation to, from, and on campus includes campus bus and shuttle services, walking and bike paths, and public transportation services.

Reading Days/Final Exam (May 5 through May 14) Starting Monday May 5, 2008 all commuter students with valid 2008 commuter permits (including Night commuters) may park in any commuter lot on any campus. Residents with valid permits must remain in their assigned lots.

Students without valid 2008 permits can purchase Temporary parking for $20.00 (permits will be valid May 5 through May 16th)

Resident students please inform us via email, if you are moving out before Move out day. info@publicsafety.rutgers.edu

Senior Week (May 14th –May 23rd)
Free Senior week permits are available for Seniors without permits. Picked up permits at the Department of Transportation receptionist desk.
