The Department of Transportation Services utilizes license plate recognition technology that captures and reads a vehicle license plate to confirm that the vehicle is registered and has permission to park on campus. You will not receive a physical hangtag or decal. Vehicle license plates must be unobstructed, affixed to the bumper, and displayed in view from the driving aisle of a parking space.

Vehicle Registration
Vehicle registration with the Department of Transportation Services is a personal obligation. Non-receipt of registration materials does not excuse failure to register. Vehicles are to be registered for an individual’s personal use only. Registering a vehicle for another person’s use through false information constitutes fraud. One student cannot register another student’s vehicle, in addition one faculty/staff cannot register another student’s or faculty/staff vehicle. There is no refund for a permit obtained fraudulently. Fraudulently registered vehicles will be subject to ticketing and/or towing. Vehicles can only be registered to one permit.

Motorcycles, Convertibles, and Jeep Wranglers

Each motorcycle, convertible, and Jeep Wrangler requires a separate permit:

  • Must be obtained at The Department of Transportation Services
  • Permit is a bumper sticker only, no hangtag.
  • Sticker placement:
    * Motorcycle – left side of fork
    * Convertible and Jeep Wrangler – left side of rear bumper
  • Full permit fee is charged when used as a primary vehicle
