Parking Permits

Anyone that needs to park in university parking areas must obtain a permit. The parking permit you will receive and the respective fee is determined by:

  • Your affiliation – i.e. student, faculty/staff, visitor, vendor
  • Your time spent on campus – i.e. commuter, resident, night commuter, temporary employee, faculty/staff

Permits

Once your vehicle is registered and payment is made, you will receive:
Hangtag

  • Indicates the Zone where you may park
  • ONE hangtag is to be used for ALL registered vehicles
  • Must be hung from your rearview mirror with assignment and expiration date facing the outside of the vehicle

If your hangtag has been lost or stolen click here.

Sticker

  • Confirms that your vehicle is registered and should match your hangtag
  • ONE sticker for EACH vehicle you register is issued
  • To be permanently affixed to the rear, side window on the driver side of the vehicle.

To Obtain Your Parking Permit, Select Your Affiliation Below:

Motorcycles, Convertibles, and Jeep Wranglers

Each motorcycle, convertible, and Jeep Wrangler requires a separate permit:

  • Must be obtained at The Department of Transortation Services
  • Permit is a bumper sticker only, no hangtag.
  • Sticker placement:
    * Motorcycle – left side of fork
    * Convertible and Jeep Wrangler – left side of rear bumper
  • Full permit fee is charged when used as a primary vehicle
  • Cost $10.00 when it’s an additional vehicle
Additional Vehicles
  • Cost $10.00 per additional vehicle
  • After the initial registration, you must register additional vehicles via mail or in person at The Department of Transportation Services

Rented Vehicles

Employees and students need to bring rented or borrowed vehicles on campus for one day, due to service of their registered vehicle, should contact the DOTS office. A short-term rental (less than 2 weeks) requires an electronic notification issued from our office. Rentals over two weeks must be registered with our office. Unreported vehicles are subject to ticketing. Please email this information to info@aps.rutgers.edu. Include your name, license plate state and number, make and model of the vehicle along with how long you will be driving the rental vehicle.
